Book Spotlight-My Boogie Woogie Bugle Guy by DL Jackson

When Grace Daniels goes to the cemetery to visit the grave of her twin brother, she meets a soldier, there for the same reason, or at least that’s what she believes until he tells her about the blind date her brother arranged before he was killed in combat.
It’s the date of her dreams. Big band, brass and sass, Madame Eve from 1NightStand has set her up for an unforgettable night, a WWII swing dance party. Unfortunately she’s having trouble letting go of her past, and is afraid to take the chance given to her.
Sergeant Frank Winters is an Army trumpet player who travels with the Color Guard, a great dancer and six feet four inches of eye candy that could make her an addict. He’s also a soldier and soldiers can get killed. Grace doesn’t have the heart to lose someone again, but Frank knows a good thing when he sees it, and he’s determined to show her in one night, she’s got more to lose if she walks away.

Excerpt:
“For my next number, I’m gonna play something a little more laid back.” A slurry voice rang out over the headstones, echoing through what was supposed to be a closed graveyard. A trumpet began to play. Dah, dah, dum. Dah, dah, squawk.
She bolted up. “What the hell?” Believing she was alone, she’d bared her soul to her brother. She certainly wouldn’t have had that conversation if she’d known someone lingered nearby. She turned around three hundred and sixty degrees, until her gaze landed on a mausoleum backlit by the moon. A man stood on the roof with brass to his lips, butchering Taps. In his other hand, he held a bottle of what was probably in the glass on Geordie’s grave.
Grace swatted the debris from her pants and stomped toward the mausoleum, irritation prickling up the back of her neck. She stopped at the base of the stone structure and glared up. “What are you doing here at three in the morning? The cemetery is closed.”
“Whoa, hot chick in the audience.” He swayed, threatening to fall off the roof. “Feel free to toss your panties onto the stage in appreciation.”
She clicked her flashlight on and cast the beam on him. “I suggest you get down from there before you fall or I have to arrest you for public intoxication.”
He gave her a shit-eating grin. “You got handcuffs?”
“Oh, God,” she groaned under her breath. “Of course I’ve got handcuffs. I’m the police.”
He rocked and blinked his eyes. “You’re hot for a cop.”
“Thank you, I think. Now get down.”
“Okay.” He jumped, hit the edge of the roof, rolled off, and dropped like a stone at her feet, doing it with all the grace of a bag of potatoes. Yet he’d managed to keep hold of the bottle and not spill a drop. He put the horn to his lips and blew, but nothing more than a raspberry came from the mouthpiece. “For my next number, I’m going to play....” He looked up at her. “Any requests?”
“Yeah, tell me where you’re staying, so I can take you to your room.”
“Easy, girl. What kind of guy do you think I am?”

Rescued Love

Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to help, especially those who are helpless. When it came to writing a novel, I couldn't pass up the idea of writing about animal rescue. I've never worked in an animal hospital or shelter, but I have some experience rescuing strays. Here is one story of how my family saved a dog.

When I was a kid, my grandmother worked in home nursing. She would go to people's homes, help them get better, and sometimes even befriend their family. She had one particular family that she loved. They were an elder couple. Both had been doctors when they were younger, but now illness and old age had gotten the better of them. At first, only the husband was my grandma's patient. She would check his blood pressure and temperature, and then chat with his wife for hours before moving on to her next family. This family had a little white poodle that was like a child to them.

As the years went on, the husband grew sicker, and the wife eventually took ill. Once the husband died, the couple's youngest daughter took the mother to live with her. My grandma would still do her home visits with the wife, but she noticed that the beloved family dog didn't seem so beloved anymore. She asked the daughter, who confessed to only keeping the dog for her mother's sake, and when the old woman died a few months later, the daughter told my grandma that now she intended to take the dog to a forest and let him get eaten by wolves.

The dog was already old and halfway blind, and it broke my grandma's heart to learn of this animal's fate. He wouldn't survive in the woods. All it took was one phone call and my mom agreed to take the dog. My family rescued that poor poodle, giving him a warm bed to sleep in, and a few good years of his life before he had to be put down from old age.

You see, animals are important to me, so if you are as much of an animal lover as I am, you will enjoy my new book, Rescued Love.

Here is the blurb:

Can the doctor, who made a life out of helping animals, heal a human?

One by one, household dogs disappear only to come back after senseless abuse. Veterinarian Jordan Powell will stop at nothing to ensure her patients' safety. Even if that means seeking help from ex-boyfriend, police officer Nate Thrillson, the man whose heart she once broke.

The last thing Nate wants is a relationship. He has an inoperable cancerous tumor in his brain and his days are numbered. Yet, he couldn't resist Jordan.

It's a race against time to save the dogs and the man who captured her heart. Can the doctor, who made a life out of helping animals, heal a human?

Pineapple: Your P*ssy’s Best Friend

I'm so pleased to have the lovely Dahlia DeWinters at Decadent Decisions today. She's brought her with her a great post I'm sure will please.

W. Lynn, thanks so much for hosting me!

Readers, take a seat, kick off  your shoes and have a glass of iced pineapple juice.  I’ll tell you why in a minute, okay?

Every woman has heard the old joke about the blind man walking past the fish market and remarking “Hello, ladies.”  I’m sure there are more jokes out there about the way  pussy tastes or smells, and because they are jokes, the intimation is that the normal pussy smells and/or tastes bad and that’s why most men don’t like going down on a woman. Pshaw.

“Home in three days…don’t wash!”  - a missive supposedly sent to Josephine from Napoleon, proof of which I cannot find anywhere on the Internet.  But it’s fun to say, right? Perhaps Napoleon liked his pussy on the more fragrant side.

As a teenager, my mother scarred me permanently by advising me to drink loads of water after eating tuna fish or salmon because “first you smell like fish, THEN you smell like fish.”  But she was right.  Whatever you consume will come out of you in one form or another.

Whatever the myths may be, let’s leave them behind in our quest for a tastier quim.  Given good hygiene, there are a few more steps you can take in order to sweeten the offering:

Avoid large amounts of junk food, garlic, onions.  Ever have that persistent garlic breath after eating spaghetti, that taste in your mouth that won’t go away?  Well, your pussy is probably feeling the same way, except the taste and/or smell will be in your partner’s mouth.

Stay away from smoking, too much alcohol and strongly spiced and/or fatty foods.  That Big Mac with large fries and a soda on a daily basis is eventually going to tell on you.

Eat plenty of fruits, especially pineapple, melons, mango, and hold for cheap joke here, cherries.  These sweet fruits freshen your breath upstairs and down. Drinking fruit juices will also help.

Drink plenty of water.  This is a good thing for our bodies in general and one that we sometimes forget to do.  Water dilutes bodily secretions and helps to flush the toxins out.

Try some of these tips to make your honey pot as mouth-watering as possible.

A note of caution:    Do not stick any fruits in your vagina.  You may experience an allergic reaction.

The Wisest Maiden is a fantasy fairy tale that is inspired by the One Thousand Arabian Nights story:

After she is forced into marriage with a powerful ruler who deflowers and kills his brides, Issalia is compelled to use her wits to avoid the executioner’s axe. But can she avoid having her heart captured by the deeply wounded king?

For the next few days, Issalia took close instruction from Amina on proper etiquette during the wedding feast, the ritual wedding night dance, and consumed a strict diet of only fresh fruit, light pastries, vegetables, and rice. When Issalia inquired during a noontime meal why she was on such a diet, “Surely the king doesn’t think I need to lose weight?” Amina actually blushed and gave her the answer in a bashful whisper. “It’s so your … taste is pleasing to the king.”

“Taste?” She brought her cup of water to her mouth and then paused, her face becoming hot. “Oh. Taste.” An erotic thrill passed through her body as she imagined the king’s mouth and lips on her most intimate flesh. She sipped at the water in an attempt to cool her body’s temperature, for a light coating of perspiration had blossomed on her skin, although the dining area was shaded. It was strange that she would have such feelings for a man who meant to kill her. After she replaced her cup, she selected an especially large piece of sweet mango. “Then I shall not disappoint His Majesty,” she said before she devoured the fruit in three bites.

Book Spotlight-Waking Up in the Wrong Bed by Natalie Anderson

From the back of the book:
When film location scout Ellie Summers sneaks into a colleague's hotel room with seduction in mind, she's thrilled by her own daring!

But the smug morning-after glow morphs into red-faced mortification when she wakes in the arms of a total stranger! Ruben Theroux might be fine with the situation, but a flustered Ellie most definitely is not.

Ellie's only defence against this very attractive guy is to insist they're friends only--strictly no benefits! But Ruben isn't a successful businessman for nothing--they'll be good together, and he's happy to play dirty to get what he wants....

[After making the most mortifying mistake of her life, Ellie has been determined to keep Ruben at bay. Especially now she knows who he is and how he’s completely wrong for her… She’s determined to put him on the ‘friend’ level—only trouble is Ruben is resisting that assignment and Ellie’s hormones are totally on his side!]

“You can’t resist it can you?” she teased as she came out of the pool house, ready to join him. She too had showered. Now his clean shirt was clinging to her wet body beneath.
Ruben pressed the spa bubbles on full to hide how horrifically extreme her affect on him was.
“Resist what?” he asked vaguely. Thinking about sex all the time? Hell he wished he could get her out of his head, or at least get some other woman in. He’d never been unhealthily fixated on one lover like this. He blamed it on the absolute excitement of waking to discover a hot, perfect lover straddling him. Pure fantasy come to life.
Of course he couldn’t help thinking of it and nothing but. Of course he’d had to finangle a way of getting her back in his bed – even just for a weekend. Only it wasn’t proving to be as simple as he’d planned.
“Seeking out pleasure,” she shook her head and shivering as she stepped carefully into the steaming water.
“I work hard so why shouldn’t I enjoy play time?” He sent her a sideways look and jeered lightly. “Nothing wrong with relaxing and celebrating and enjoying pleasure. We should appreciate it when something feels good.”
“Don’t think you can get me to yes by glamorising hedonism,” she answered equally flippantly.
“But you know how good it was. You told me how good it was.” And he’d loved hearing it. “The best ever.” And he couldn’t get past it now, not when she was doing the wet tee-shirt thing in a hot tub.
“It’s bad form to compare lovers,” Ellie said primly sitting on the opposite side of the spa from him and determinedly not looking at his bare chest. She didn’t believe for a second that he actually felt the same way – she hadn’t been his best lover ever as well.
“I’m not doing that,” he laughed. “I’m merely reminding you that that night with me was the best sex of your life. I can’t understand why don’t you want a repeat of that.”
“Because it wasn’t real,” she said simply.
“It wasn’t real?” Ruben’s tease vaporised. “Wasn’t real?”
In a heartbeat the relaxed, teasing atmosphere snapped to stormy. Ellie’s suddenly feverish temperature couldn’t be blamed on the bubbling water.
“No, it wasn’t real,” she insisted.
He stared at her. “It was the best sex of your life,” he declared again, almost defiantly daring her to deny it.
“Okay I’ll give you that,” she cleared her throat. “But don’t you think that’s because it was such a fantasy? Like a dream?” Her half dreaming state had made the memory even better. “So good it couldn’t have been real.”
His obsidian gaze narrowed in on her, compelling more of an explanation from her.

“I didn’t know you. You didn’t know me,” she faltered. “We can’t ever recreate that scenario.”
“So you think our being together again would be a disappointment?” he asked, incredulous.
“It would have to be,” she muttered. “Don’t you think?”
“No I don’t. You’re not curious to know for sure?”
“I…” Of course she was curious. It was hard containing that curiosity. But she didn’t want to taint that memory with disappointment, nor did she want to mess up her opportunity at work.
“You liked fantasy sex.”
“So did you,” she defended.
“Yeah,” he admitted with a wolfish grin. “There are other kinds of fantasy sex.”
She swallowed. “I’m not into kink.”
He chuckled. “I can come up with many, many simple, sweet fantasies if you like.”
She licked her lips before realizing what a revealing piece of body language she’d instinctively performed. She put her hand to her mouth and rubbed – as if she could deny the yearning there.
“Ellie.”
Oh help, that had her toes curling, but the rest of her was paralysed. She couldn’t walk, couldn’t run. She just waited as he took the two paces through the water. So close she had to tilt her chin to maintain eye contact – which she was damn well determined to do. So close she could feel his breath, could feel her own muscles weakening as excitement erupted.
He inclined his head, lowering it almost enough. “You want fantasy?” his lips barely moved as he challenged.

Love on the Rocks

Thank you for hosting me today, Lynn!
Let me tell you…I love this book!!! It's the one that set me on the path I'm now traveling.
Thanks to an infection in the bone of my thumb, it had to be amputated. In order to regain the flexibility in that hand and return to the full-time job, I began typing, but soon tired of typing tests and the like. An idea formed and I began to write, seriously write, an adult novel of the type I enjoy reading. Seven weeks later, Love on the Rocks was finished, although it's seen several revisions since that early, rough draft.
This story begins and ends at The Rocks at Hopewell Cape, NB. The stunning beauty of the rock formations is a sight to behold. Please join me as I share a little piece of my province.

I so love hearing from my readers! It’s important to know what works and doesn’t work for them as I continue to craft stories of love and mystery. You can find me at:

Sara is fraught with guilt and tension at the possibility of being found out. What will Anthony think of her if—or when—he finds out the truth? To add to her worries, trouble arises in the form of Sara’s ex-boyfriend, who appears on the scene with custody papers in hand. She makes a hasty escape, her daughter in tow, but in the process of avoiding the evil Elliot Saunders, is she leaving behind her one true love?

Love on the Rocks - Excerpt
"Since you slaved away to prepare such a feast, I insist on doing the washing up."

"What? No beeper?" Caroline chided.

"Not tonight. Guess I was too tired to arrange a get-a-way. I'll have to do better tomorrow," Anthony said with a wink and a chuckle.

Picking up Charity, she shot back, saying, "That figures. Oh, well, I'll enjoy tonight's respite and take our little princess upstairs to get her cleaned up. What do you think of that, sweetheart?"

"Fine with me," Anthony answered unexpectedly, then must have caught himself because he turned back to look at them as Caroline erupted into laughter. "Uh, you weren't talking to me just then, were you?" he asked sheepishly.

"No, but you sure do look good in red," she quipped, giggling at his embarrassment as she went on her way.

Anthony could hear her giggles as she went up the back stairs. To his astonishment, he had truly enjoyed thinking she'd called him 'Sweetheart,' and it had seemed so natural, too.

Oh, boy! Am I ever in big trouble, he told himself as he realized he'd fallen head over heels for the woman. What am I going to do now? How do I find out if she feels the same without bringing on a sexual harassment suit? Why did she have to be Charity's nanny...an employee...and a darn good one at that! He didn't want to scare her into running away. Think, Anthony! Think! He knew he'd figure out something. He'd just have to play it by ear and take a chance when the opportunity arose.
