Three for Keeps and Lila Munro

1-Tell the readers a little about yourself.
I’m a forty-something empty nester who’s married to her own real life hero in the form of a US Marine. Currently I live on the coast of North Carolina, although I’ve lived all over the place over the last fifteen years and in fact have moved nine times. I’ve held a driver’s license in four states and had an international driving permit at one time when I lived in Okinawa, Japan for three years. I have two pets, a Bernese Mountain dog named Rags and an overweight Sheltie named Lady, both of whom were rescue dogs and think they are tiny humans. I love research. Yep, that’s right. I love research. Not many people do and I’ve only found a smattering of writers these days that enjoy it, but I think it’s one of the most fabulous parts of penning, the hunt for the facts. And my research trips take me to some of the most unusual places, and I’ve met some of the most fascinating individuals that way.
2-As an author, do you take time to read? If so, what do you like to read and who is/are your favorite author/s?
I absolutely do. I feel Stephen King was on to something when he said if you don’t have time to read, you don’t have time to write. How else can we learn and hone our craft if not by practicing it by reading it? Aside from that factor, I’m a devout reader. I’ve always had a voracious appetite for books, even before I could actually read them. I read everything from classics to self-help to religion to, of course, romance in all sub-genres. Right now I’m busy ready Tymber Dalton and Eden Bradley. I also am partial to Cherise Sinclair, Maya Banks and Loralei James. I recently discovered Kitty Thomas and for anyone that likes the darker side of BDSM and the psychology of it, I highly recommend her.
3-How do you stay motivated when the Muse is uncooperative?
Well, it’s not easy that’s for sure, however, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. I write anything—blog posts, poems, lists, anything that keeps words coming off my fingers. And, I read. Reading gets my mind back in the game and sometimes that means re-reading what I’m writing to find out why I’m stuck. If all else fails I refuse any fun time for Arwen or Bronwyn until they can behave. That includes no sleep-overs with my best friend’s muse, Arje—a bi-sexual trouble maker, and of course, no cookies for anyone until the strike is over.
4-If you could go anywhere in the world on a romantic getaway, what would you do and where would you go?
Let me just say…you will find this extremely boring and odd. My husband is away on business with the USMC about 80% of his time. My idea of a romantic getaway is the back yard with a bottle of wine, a red velvet cake and him. That’s it. As long as I can spend a few hours with him, I could care less where we are.
5-What is the hardest thing for you to write?
I don’t think there’s a hardest thing to write so much as I have a hardest thing to deal with in writing. I HATE commas! They are my sworn enemy and my editor and I are still battling this war against the most horrible punctuation mark in the English language.
6-If you could live the life of one of your characters who would you be?
Honestly, I write so much military romance, I have lived or am living the life of many of my characters right now. However, talking in terms of fantasy…Jill from True Identity. What’s not to love about a Dom du jour? And Steph has the true mind of a Dom to say the least. Yeah, he could mess with my mind all day long.
7-The tag line on my blog is ‘Indulge Your Inner Romantic.’ What do you do to indulge?

Odd you should be asking this… I in fact have been compiling top ten lists and one happens to be guilty pleasures. So, I’ll share a few things off of it. I am a total Kindle junkie. I spend atrocious amounts of money at Vera Bradley and Vicky’s Secret, I like massages and the occasional Crown Royal…and my biggest indulgence? Bubble baths. I call taking one going to the think tank because when I need to work a scene out in my mind before putting it down, that’s where I go. I’ve come up with some killer stuff sitting in a big tub of hot bubbly water.

Blurb:
Zoey Matthews is in love. She’s been in love since the day she was dropped off by a social worker at yet another foster home on a back country road miles from nowhere, Missouri. At age ten, she met the men of her dreams. Over the course of sixteen years, Dane Cardwell, Jack Devereux and Ryan Wilkins fell in love with her, too. They’ve each told her they love her, they’ve shown her and each man has gone so far as to ask her to marry him. But what they don’t know is Zoey loves them all.

Her game of kiss and not tell all comes crashing down around her the night of her graduation from veterinary school and Zoey runs for the mountains. Of Colorado. Hoping to outrun her obsession with three men and forget them all together, she stays gone for ten years. But the wound has never healed. In fact, it's done nothing but fester. Needing to clear the air, Zoey agrees to spend a few days back home with the boys never imagining it would turn into a week filled with comparison sex as Dane, Jack and Ryan each try to get Zoey to choose between them and their varied tastes.

When she finally tells the truth, a truth only one of them has known all along, Zoey fears the foursome will never be able to make a sharing relationship work. After all, aren't there just too many personalities and desires to sort through? Add in the kink factor and things get really complicated. Zoey’s not convinced the truth has any merit, but there's one thing she knows for sure…this time she's playing for keeps.
Short Excerpt:
Zoey pulled her cap off and tossed it on the sink then tugged her tank top up over her head before letting it fall to the floor. She glanced in the mirror at the artwork that Ryan hadn’t seen as she unsnapped her bra and tossed it on top of her shirt. After toeing off her ropers, she shed her jeans and stood there in nothing more than a pink G-string brushing out her hair.
“Zoey Matthews,” Ryan growled and sent her squealing and jumping a few inches off the floor. “Oh my God. That fuckin’ hummin’bird wasn’t all of it? What the fuck? Jesus Christ!”
Before Zoey could cover herself Ryan was in the bathroom with her, spinning her in a circle looking her over from head to toe. His eyes lingered a while on the wild stallions galloping across her lower back.
“Who the hell did you let do that?” he demanded, pointing at her nipple.
“None of your business,” she said. “I told you earlier, I’m grown.”
That piercing had come on the heels of a stint with a bull rider who liked to play rough. Zoey found she liked it a little rough, too, and after a few too many Patrons one night, she had one of the vendors administer a little gold ring through her right nipple. Of course what her next lover never knew was that the whole time he was flicking the little gold ring with his tongue, Zoey was imagining someone else’s tongue rattling her cage.
“And I told you I could see that,” he snarled.
Zoey opened her mouth to give him an earful but before one word escaped her, Ryan ran his hands up her nape and grabbed two handfuls of her hair, wrapping it around his fists before literally devouring her mouth. She couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t move. Hell, she couldn’t even think. Desperate was the only way to describe how Ryan was acting. He bit, sucked, licked and inhaled her over and over again until they were both breathless, forehead to forehead, heaving for air.
“Ryan?” she gasped.
“Shut up, Zoey.”
That was all he had to say before feasting on her mouth again then moving down and grabbing the little gold ring with his teeth and tugging, sending a zip of pain out and across her breast which sent her heart into an irregular rhythm and her clit into a spasm.
“Oh, shit,” she squeaked.
“I’d have never guessed, Zoey. Why didn’t you tell me?” he breathed across her throat before taking her earlobe and grating it between his teeth.
“There’s a lot of things you don’t know, Ryan,” she groaned.
“I want to know, baby. All of it.”
“No you don’t.” Zoey squirmed and pulled away. “Stop, Ryan. I can’t…”
“Goddamn it, Zoey. Shit!” Ryan backed up and ran his hands over his head. “I’m sorry. I…that’s not what I came up here for. I was supposed to ask if you were hungry.”
Thanks to you and Jack, I’m starved.
“No, thanks anyway.” Zoey yanked her G-string down, threw it at him and got in the shower.

Hi LIla, thank you so much for being here on the eve of Christmas Eve. Chef Aanan and Bartender Tyrell have whipped up the specialties. I know there are a bunch of cookies floating around, but try the eggnog and the crab dip.

I hear you with the commas. If I could totally obliterate them from the English language I would. Also the excerpt is just fab. I know I"m adding Three for Keeps to my wishlist.
