Tell the readers a little about yourself.
Hi, I'm Liberty Blake. I live in a small town in New England. I am the Queen of all Jobs (like a Jack of all Trades). I have cleaned toilets in exchange for Karate lessons, taught dancing, been a cocktail waitress, a radio disc jockey, a teacher, the chairperson of a multi-million dollar non-profit organization. I even spent a week working as a lumber jack. I have five children and I am always surrounded by small people.
As an author, do you take time to read?
Reading is my life. It has gotten me through some very difficult times. I reward myself with reading time.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have many authors that are on my must buy list. The one that has been on the list the longest is Georgette Heyer. She may not have invented the Regency Romance, but she defined what it was. Her books always bring a smile to my face. I love Hannah Howell's books. She knows how to write strong female characters that are believable for the times they live in and strong alpha heroes who love them. Andre Norton for all the wonderful fantasy novels she wrote. Carrie Vaughn's Kiity the Werewolf series. Sara Paretsky created V. I. Warshawski. Sherrilyn Kenyon. Christine Feehan. Lisa Gardner. Linda Howard. This list could go on and on, but these are the authors I buy as soon as they are available.
How do you stay motivated when the Muse is uncooperative?
I do the dishes. I hate cleaning, so this is a drastic measure for me. I also give myself permission to take a break, it is better than letting the frustration grow. If the Muse is still being obstinate I work on something else.
If you could go anywhere in the world on a romantic getaway, what would you do and where would you go?
Anywhere is romantic if you are with the right person.
What is the hardest thing for you to write?
Light and airy. A dark edge and sex are easy for me, it is the light and airy stuff that takes a lot of work.
If you could live the life of one of your characters who would you be?
I would be Noelle from Christmas Spirit she's an optimist. She helps those in need. She loves her work and she is spunky.
What do you like to write about the most?
It all depends on my mood, but my tendency is more toward the dark. My characters must have strife in their lives before they can overcome the past.
What do you like to write the least?
Non-fiction.
The tag line on my blog is ‘Indulge Your Inner Romantic.’ What do you do to indulge?
I am a free spirit. That is my greatest indulgence.

Great interview! Learned some new things about you. I'm surpirsed light and airy is hard for you as you're pretty witty, lady!
Not a problem. I'm surprised the guys didn't feed them to you. *wink*
Thank you, Jillian.
Lynn, the guys were a little busy. They had their hands full, if you know what I mean. *big wink*
