Valentine “V” Jackson is not having a good day. It’s Valentine’s Day and she’s single. What could be worst? How about the fact that V is lusting after her neighbor and her boss’s son, Joaquin Bennett – the man who stole her job! Joaquin is sex-personified and if V was a brave woman she would give in to her sexual desires but deep rooted fears keep her from seeking the thing she wants most – love!

Joaquin Bennett wants one woman: V. If she could just get over her ice-queen act and give him a break maybe they could explore the fireworks between them. He knows it’s only a matter of time before one of them gives in and he’s going to love every moment of it!

Writing a Valentine's Day story is one of the best times of year to capture a character's story. In this short story, V Jackson has that quirky and real sense of humor about Valentine's Day and all it represents, even the secret desire to be with Joaquin. It was interesting to explore the element of fear of falling in love within V, due to her own self-limitations. Her character overcomes, takes the leap that we all take at one time or another in our lives. (Smile) And she had a handsome hero to catch her!

Yes, Bozo was from my hometown AND graduated from my high school. His name was Bob Bell. Mr. Bell received an Emmy for playing Bozo in 1970 and was inducted in the Clown Hall of Fame a year before he passed away.

December 30, 1936-February 1937 The Union staged a strike in the Fisher plant.

Every year in August, people from all over the world flock to downtown for the Crim Festival of Races.

And all of these lovely event occurred in my hometown of Flint, Michigan. Just Michigan was acceptable as well. :-)
