Mistletoe Mambo Release Day and Contest

It's Release Day and I'm giving away a candy arrangement, courtesy of my lovely sister.
Mistletoe Mambo has been released as a stand-alone short for a very reasonable price. 99 cents. I know you've got 99 cents. :-)

Blurb: Only one man dances to the music of Madeline’s heart.

She was aware of the crowd parting to accommodate their slow foxtrot, but she kept her focus on Max. Her knees wobbled so badly, if she ignored the intensity of his gaze she might stumble. He held her closer than necessary. Each glide of his hips brought his erection against her thigh. Surprised, she held her breath. Was it possible the attraction wasn’t one-sided, after all?
As if sensing her thoughts, he winged a brow. When his hand drifted lower on her hip, her heart thudded harder. Maybe he was flirting with her and merely used their dance as an excuse to hold her. Or perhaps this was wishful thinking on her part. Dancing wasn’t unusual at the Christmas party, but somehow dancing with him, knowing how she felt made the experience more exhilarating. Each brush of his pelvis sent an answering tremor through her body. She wanted more than three or four minutes in his arms. For a brief second, she rested her head on his shoulder. He tapped her right arm and she rotated into a spin. She completed two turns before he clasped her hand and drew her against the heat of his body once again.
She became lost in the depths of his eyes, glimpsing a longing she never noticed before as they circled the dance floor. The strength of his arm clasped her waist. The sure grip of his hand tightened on hers and the smooth texture of his trousers met her skin when he dipped her over his leg. Every nerve ending crackled at the sensual slide of his hard, powerful thigh beneath her bare back. He pressed his lips to the hollow of her throat and she forgot to breathe.
He stood her upright and glided them around the well-worn linoleum. Amazement must have shown on her face because he smirked. She followed his lead, too unsettled to do anything else. Did his little kiss mean he was interested, or was that just part of the dance? One more twirl around the floor, and then his steps slowed. Swaying in time to the music, he held her in his arms.
All too soon the song ended and they were forced to bow when thunderous applause cascaded through the room. Madeline pressed her hands to her cheeks while she struggled to catch her breath. She cast a sidelong glance at Max, his hand resting in the small of her back.
“I love dancing with you,” he whispered, leading her to the edge of the dance floor. “The scent of your perfume, the slide of your skin against mine, and when I lift you in my arms all I can think about is the way you would taste.” He squeezed her bottom.

Welcome Liberty Blake

I'm pleased to have fellow SMP author and partner in crime, Liberty Blake. She was kind enough to party with me and my guys on the lovely Valentine's Day. Roses and chocolates for everyone! *mwah*

Tell the readers a little about yourself.
Hi, I'm Liberty Blake. I live in a small town in New England. I am the Queen of all Jobs (like a Jack of all Trades). I have cleaned toilets in exchange for Karate lessons, taught dancing, been a cocktail waitress, a radio disc jockey, a teacher, the chairperson of a multi-million dollar non-profit organization. I even spent a week working as a lumber jack. I have five children and I am always surrounded by small people.
As an author, do you take time to read?
Reading is my life. It has gotten me through some very difficult times. I reward myself with reading time.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have many authors that are on my must buy list. The one that has been on the list the longest is Georgette Heyer. She may not have invented the Regency Romance, but she defined what it was. Her books always bring a smile to my face. I love Hannah Howell's books. She knows how to write strong female characters that are believable for the times they live in and strong alpha heroes who love them. Andre Norton for all the wonderful fantasy novels she wrote. Carrie Vaughn's Kiity the Werewolf series. Sara Paretsky created V. I. Warshawski. Sherrilyn Kenyon. Christine Feehan. Lisa Gardner. Linda Howard. This list could go on and on, but these are the authors I buy as soon as they are available.
How do you stay motivated when the Muse is uncooperative?
I do the dishes. I hate cleaning, so this is a drastic measure for me. I also give myself permission to take a break, it is better than letting the frustration grow. If the Muse is still being obstinate I work on something else.
If you could go anywhere in the world on a romantic getaway, what would you do and where would you go?
Anywhere is romantic if you are with the right person.
What is the hardest thing for you to write?
Light and airy. A dark edge and sex are easy for me, it is the light and airy stuff that takes a lot of work.
If you could live the life of one of your characters who would you be?
I would be Noelle from Christmas Spirit she's an optimist. She helps those in need. She loves her work and she is spunky.
What do you like to write about the most?
It all depends on my mood, but my tendency is more toward the dark. My characters must have strife in their lives before they can overcome the past.
What do you like to write the least?
Non-fiction.

The tag line on my blog is ‘Indulge Your Inner Romantic.’ What do you do to indulge?
I am a free spirit. That is my greatest indulgence.

A Moment with Liv Rancourt

I'm please to have fellow Still Moments author Liv Rancourt visiting on Decadent Decisions. So without let me step aside and let her share her story.

Thanks, Lynn, for the opportunity to tell your readers about my short story, “The Santa Drag” that appears in Christmas Treats: Santa’s Nice List from Still Moments Publishing.
Things aren’t always what they seem, and this shopping mall Santa has a secret that only the love of her life can  reveal.
When Lynn and I were setting up this guest appearance, she mentioned that her blog often featured adult content, and asked if I was okay with that. I told her that yeah, I’d been following her posts and knew what was up. I should probably have warned her of something in return. While I might enjoy reading “adult content”, when it comes to my own writing, I’m definitely a PG-rated girl.
I think it stems from a formative event that happened when I was in high school. I was standing in the alto section of the school choir, and though I have no memory of the preceding conversation, I do very clearly remember the blond girl next to me leaning over and whispering, “Those who talk about it don’t do it.”
She said it with such authority and yet with such an air of ennui that I knew she spoke the truth. Ever since, I’ve been afraid of talking about sex, lest someone mistake me for the kind of geek who never gets any. Actually, for years I was exactly that kind of geek, but that’s another blog post. These days, when I get ready to write a love scene, I sit at the laptop, shake out my fingers, and get ready to unleash my inner….Girl Scout.
Which is how “The Santa Drag” ended up on Santa’s Nice List. It tells the story of Mack, a Seattle-area actress who takes a job playing Santa because it’s the only thing she can find that’ll pay the rent. She is mightily dismayed one Saturday afternoon when a certain semi-famous actor shows up with kids in tow, to have pictures taken with Santa. Is she a good enough actress to fool Joe McBride, the only guy she ever really loved? You’ll have to check out Christmas Treats: Santa’s Nice List to find out.
Santa's Nice List
Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased as punch to be on the Nice List, and can’t wait to read the other Nice stories. I’m also very much looking forward to Santa’s Naughty List, too, because I can tell from what I’ve seen on Lynn’s blog that you ladies are writing it and reading it and living it with class and enthusiasm.  Peace,
Liv
