Today I have fellow Whispers Author Kacey Hammell. Reading through your answers I see we have a couple of fave authors in common. You can't go wrong with a JD Robb or Lisa JAckson novel. Thank you so much for being here.
Tell the readers a little about yourself.
I’m married, a Mom to three active and creative kids who keep me on my toes. I am an Avid Reader who found romance books at the age of thirteen. Since then, I’ve been hooked. It was only natural in 2001 when I found an online romance review site and became a reviewer. In a few years, I reviewed over four hundred title and felt compelled to try writing myself. A few years later, at the advice and prodding of my husband, I decided to sit and write my first story. I had to take a hiatus from writing four years ago when my father passed away unexpectedly, but now I’m in a better mind-set and have been able to find my way back to writing.
As an author, do you take time to read? If so, what do you like to read and who is/are your favorite author/s?
I love to read contemporary, paranormal and erotic romances and romantic suspense. My fave authors are Jaci Burton, JD Robb, Suzanne Brockmann, Monette Michaels, Sara Brookes, Lora Leigh, Cherry Adair, Nikki Soarde, Karen Robards, Marliss Melton, Cindy Gerard, Maya Banks, Lauren Dane, Lisa Jackson, Patricia A. Rasey, TL Schaefer, Jasmine Haynes … to name a few
If you could go anywhere in the world on a romantic getaway, what would you do and where would you go?
I’d love to go to Ireland with my hubby. One reason is my grandfather was from there and talked about it often when I was a child. I think seeing it with my husband would be great. Neither of us has ever been and any time away with the husband is romantic and much needed.
If you could live the life of one of your characters who would you be?
Isabella Knowles. She’s a Detective, from one of my previously published works, and she’s tough-as-nails, stubborn and just a compelling character. She’s lost a lot in the past and tries to keep people at arms-length, but as with any good romance, there’s a hunky man who gets under her skin. Many who have read the book and know me personally, say that she & I are actually a lot alike
I will be re-releasing Isabella’s story – more info will be on my website when that happens.
The tag line on my blog is ‘Indulge Your Inner Romantic.’ What do you do to indulge?
A nice long soak in the bathtub, candles, hubby is there to wash my back, and we chat about this and that. It’s the quiet times, curled up with my husband that I enjoy the most. Especially at the end of a long day.
