A Moment with M.R. Murphy

Please tell the readers a little about yourself: Not much to tell really. I'm a single mom with a couple of pretty awesome kids. I like to think of myself as a creative pervert who gets away with writing things everyone thinks about.

How about your latest release? Ginn Hunter is part of the Red Wine Anthology that I was lucky to be apart of with three other fabulous authors. A.L. Kay, River Jordan and Rue Volley. The idea behind this story  is love, loss and revenge. It puts a new twist of a 'Normal' idea of supernatural beings.

What was your primary inspiration for this book? Coming up with a Ginn (half genie, half vampire) actually was a concept a friend of mine and I tossed around, and I thought "Hey, what if this creature was kind of evil and could swallow people whole?" So basically my inspiration came from the twisted working of my methodical mind.

Do you have any muses? Absolutely, and they are currently screaming in my ear to get back to work. lol They're also great for hiding things that might distract me and drinking all the wine...Have you ever tried working with a drunk muse? It's quite interesting I tell you.

Do you control your characters or do they flog you into shape? A little of both. usually main characters are good about writing their own parts in the stories. It’s the secondary characters that need some coaxing and that’s where I come in.

When you write, is there a special routine you follow?  I prefer to write out an outline and if any scenes pop in my mental muscle, I'll jot those down too and create a folder for "future scenes." I also like to create a character bio as my blue print, this can sometimes take a few days because I like to dwell on my characters. Finally, I create playlists, choosing songs that either put my into the mind of that character or into a type of scene.
If you could be one animal, person, or at a place for a day what/who/where would it be? Animal: a Hawk, just so I could fly over the mountains and around the ocean, feel the wind ruffling my wings. Who: I don't know a 'real person" I'd like to be, I kind of prefer being me.  Where: Ireland. Need I say more.

Five random facts about you:  1) I do massage therapy on humans & horses.  2) I love photography 3) I prefer solitude 4) My cat likes to lick my head when I'm trying to sleep. 5) I love working on cars and archery

Are you working on any new releases later this year? Always. It's always a waiting game to hear back from publishers.

Anything else you’d like to say? I just would like to thank everyone who has bought Red Wine and I encourage you to read more titles by these fantastic ladies. Thank you all for the love and support you show authors, bloggers, reviewers, Etc.  Don't forget to Help a starving Author!!!!  We love our fans!

Biography of M.R. Murphy Born and raised in New Hampshire M.R. Murphy now calls Arizona her home, with her children and one silly cat. Before she was a mom, she was a writer and Massage Therapist for humans and horses. As a teenager she wrote stories as a therapeutic balance to life, an escape where dreams and thoughts became a written reality.. Finding a passion for photography and writing in high school, that has only grown.
As an adult her love for writing grew as did her love for reading, enjoying the works of such authors as JR Ward, Shayla Black, Larissa Ione, and Lara Adrian. Writing has become a way of life of her and sets out to learn her craft more, dedicating her time to her children and to writing.

Thank you for being here today. Please help yourself to the buffet and open bar. My chef and bartender are top notch. What is that chocolate cheesecake?

Sorry. I love the premise of your story. I'm definitely adding Red Wine to my TBR list. Just don't tell my hubby I'm buying more books.
