A Moment with Erykah Wyck

1-Tell the readers a little about yourself.  I have a dark side that most who know me never knew existed. I live near my two favorite places, the mountains and the sea. I find inspiration in living out my dreams. And I love just hanging out with my friends.

Things to know...
  • Okay I admit to a lot of TMI
  • Never judge a person or book by its cover.
  • I love a good giggle :)

2-As an author, do you take time to read? If so, what do you like to read and who is/are your favorite author/s? I read all kinds of romance from sweet Regency to Suspenseful romance, and then of course Erotic romance, the important thing is that the Characters are strong and I can relate to them in some way. I think you have to read. It makes you a better author in the end.

3-How do you stay motivated when the Muse is uncooperative? I try to challenge myself… Just write 500 words.  Doesn’t matter if its crap I can fix it, but I can’t fix a blank page. Usually those 500 words can turn into more than that. I sat down once to write 500 and ended up with 7000. There are also times where 500 are challenging in itself.

4-If you could go anywhere in the world on a romantic getaway, what would you do and where would you go? Greece I just love the history of Greece and its people. I am a history nut. I also just want to see that Mediterranean blue sea.

5-What is the hardest thing for you to write? More than two people in a love scene, it’s very hard keeping everyone straight. In my head I know who does what but for some reason readers don’t go into my head much LoL. That is why a really good editor is a must. It’s something I am getting better at. Every time you write you get better.

6-If you could live the life of one of your characters who would you be? Hmmm, I would love to answer that one but it would out me on my other pen name.  So for now I was have to plead the 5th on that one.

7-The tag line on my blog is ‘Indulge Your Inner Romantic.’ What do you do to indulge? I have date nights with my hubby, when my children where younger we would take them to friends house and have a date at ours.  Now we go out for walks alone, make sure to hold hands and touch each other. Romance starts with small gestures that show you care.

Where are your books available?

Excerpt:
But first she had to prove to him as well as to herself that she could trust again. After a quick glance at the clock on the wall, he stood. His heels clicked on the tiled floor, echoing through the Spartan room. With the exception of the St. Andrews’ Cross, and the chair he’d vacated, only a daybed sat in the corner. Unlike the voyeur rooms on the main floor, this was a private space on the lower level of the club. A bouncer stood guard in the hallway to ensure the privacy of the guests within.
She tilted her face in the direction of his sound. He held his hand centimeters above her skin, close enough to feel her heat. He would see if she could prove to both him and herself she had the ability to trust. After a year of working and earning her faith, everything came down to what happened now. Did she have the confidence in him to take care of her needs and wants, to be what she required, and to know that her submissiveness to him would be cherished as a supreme gift?
Leaning over her, he whispered, “Do as you’re told and trust in me.”
